Dear Lightworker,

I know there are lots of people who think that their Spirit Guides are all serious and "work, work, work...", but they can have a really great sense of humour. In fact, they often set things up in our lives to make us laugh and to make us enjoy something more.

Since it is that time of the year and it is Christmas Day, I thought I'd share an experience that I had a few years ago at exactly this time of the year.

You see, wee were having our family gathering at my niece's and she lives about 1 1/2 hours away from me. It can be a rather long drive so my sister Elaine decided to sleep over at my place so we could drive there together.

When she arrived at my home, we thought that it would be fun to drive around town to look at the decorations on the houses. We didn't have any particular route in mind and neither of us had a GPS, but we weren't worried about it. We really didn't think that it would be an issue or that driving around town was going to be that complicated.

We waited until it was dark enough and then we headed out. We drove around a few different areas and enjoyed the lights on the houses and enjoyed the all the different decorations people had put up. Then we headed to another part of town. We started driving around and very slowly it was like we entered the Twilight Zone.

We could not find our way out of the neighbourhood! We started driving around the block several times. Every time we turned and thought that we were going to be heading home, we ended up back at the same houses we'd already seen a few times. It was insane.

Now you have to understand something - I'm not good at finding my way around or sensing directions at all. I never have been. I was always getting lost and I absolutely hated driving to places I hadn't been before. My stomach would tighten up and all of my muscles would tense anytime that happened. When I got directions from others, I had to write it down very carefully and read it several times. They had to tell me "turn right or left" and if they said "go North or South" I would stare at them like they were talking another language.

Remember, when I grew up at a time when computers didn't exist. GPS didn't exist. If you got lost, you had to find a pay phone to get help. So I spent many years associated driving to new places with stress.

Now, Elaine ... she's not like that at all. She actually has a very good sense of direction but on this night - she obviously had Wendyitis.

I remember that we were heading down a road and suddenly it became all black and it looked like were leaving the neighbourhood, and heading into the abyss - I mean it was pitch black. There weren't any lights on the street at all.

We only drove a short bit and both of us felt a bit "creeped out" and decided there was something very wrong with where we were headed so we turned the car around. We didn't want to end up driving into the lake or something.

So back we went into the Twilight Zone. Now, you have to understand that we were both trying to navigate the streets. We were looking for houses and/or decorations we recognized so we could make the correct turn to get out of where we were.

That didn't seem to matter, we ended up going around in circles, seeing the same houses and just being flat out lost.

Now by this time, we were both laughing hysterically. We could not figure out what was happening and kept joking about how we needed a GPS to find our way out.

After quite a while, we managed to find our way out of the neighbourhood from hell and then we headed home. When we got home we chatted about the whole thing a little bit more and we came to the conclusion that it was a lot of fun and at least we had a good story to share at the Christmas dinner the next day.

Fast forward to the Christmas dinner...

We are sitting around eating a delicious meal and then Elaine and I decided to share our escapade of the night before.  Both of us couldn't help but laugh even as we shared the story. What was a bit strange was that my other sister and her husband seemed a bit "off" in some way as we were telling the story.

They kept looking at each other. I could feel the change in their energy - being an Empath and all, but I couldn't figure out why. I couldn't identify what I was feeling. I knew they were definitely reacting to what we were saying, but I couldn't pinpoint the emotion that I was picking up so I did what most Empaths do and I just ignored it and focused on what was happeing in front of me.

After dinner, we opened a few gifts. My sister Heather gave Elaine a gift and then handed one to me that was wrapped in same way and told us to open them together. Now I'm thinking you might not have too much difficulty guessing what we got as a gift. Can you figure it out? My sister had bought both of us a GPS!

Well, when Elaine and I saw them - we laughed so hard that we cried. At that point all of the pieces of the puzzle made sense. Now we knew why were were stuck in the Twilight Zone! Our Spirit Guides certainly would have helped to keep us from finding our way home. It just made the whole gift giving event so much more fun and meaningful.

Then I realized or understood what I was picking up from my sister and her husband. It was that "I know something you don't know" type of feeling. So as we were sharing the story, they must have been thinking, "Oh my God, we got them a GPS - oh, this is so funny", but they couldn't say anything because we didn't get the gift yet. So the whole thing ended up being a really funny and great memorey.

You know, those in Spirit do a lot more than just guide us or help us out when needed. Setting up that whole situation must have taken some organizing, but it was well worth it get the reactions out of us and it must have made them happy to see us enjoying the whole situation.

By the way, I have to say that the GPS was one of the best gifts I have ever received. All of the stress related to driving in places I didn't know totally disappeared. I don't mind it now. I know that if I miss a turn I'll be able to get back on track easily. It literally changed my life in such a positive way.

So if you're the type of person who also has trouble with reading maps or sensing directions, make sure you have GPS whether it's on your phone or whether you get another unit that's separate. It will make your life so much easier and really, really relief the stress.

Now I know this year is a bit different. A lot of people are staying home for the holidays because of covid-19 and they're following the isolation rules so it's a little bit more challenging for a lot of people. I'm staying home as well. I'm not going out to see family this this year. I am following the isolation rules.

So if you are at home I hope you are managing to enjoy yourself and I hope that all of you have a really, really wonderful holiday season. If you are celebrating Christmas that you're having a wonderful Christmas. If you're celebrating any of the holidays during this season I really hope that everybody has managed to enjoy themselves because this was a rather challenging year for sure.
